The Short-Range Certificate (SRC) is the minimum qualification required by law for anyone using fixed or handheld marine radio equipment. Both you and your vessel must be licenced, and this course is fun, practical and informative.

 

No previous knowledge or experience is necessary, and radio procedures, DSC, calling, search and rescue and much more will be taught.   A short written and practical assessment is part of the course, and you will need to bring a passport-sized photo for your licence, which will be issued and sent you by the RYA in 7-10 days.

 

Our Largs Yacht Haven facilities are fully equipped, insured and OfCom licenced, and offer a totally professional, fun and informative training experience.

 

Our highly trained RYA Radio Licence (SRC) Assessors will use all the facilities of the centre, including real training equipment, to deliver a VHF Radio Course worthy of our national recognition status. Total beginners, couples, corporate groups and even Police, Rangers, MoD Personnel. Offshore Oil and Gas Employees and local authorities are all satisfied customers.
